At Compass Dental, we are protecting the environment and your health by using the latest technology in all areas of dentistry. The fewer chemicals we use in our daily routines, the better it is for us and for our surroundings.

Below are listed just some of the ways we are trying to do our part for you and the planet:

• We were one of the first offices in Campbell River to become computerized, over 30 years ago. We are now a chartless office, and all of our patient records are computerized. Just think how many trees we have saved during that time!
• Our x-rays are digital. Not only does this eliminate the need for harmful, toxic processing chemicals, but it also cuts down on the use of the plastics that were used to produce the old dental films. The radiation exposure for digital x-rays is approximately 90% less than it is for traditional films. This makes it safer for you and also safer for our staff members.
• Our office is mercury-free and now, instead of amalgam, we use bio-compatible materials for fillings.
• We use eco-friendly disinfectants that are effective while not polluting the environment.

Staying involved in our community is extremely important to us. We proudly support Campbell River Minor Hockey, Campbell River Minor Baseball, Cameryn’s Cause, Rotary Club, Cops for Cancer and Campbell River Tyee Club.

Smiles from the Heart

Since 2013, Compass Dental has held a free dentistry day in late-January. We offer fillings and extractions at no cost to those in the community who do not have access to dental care. On average, we see approximately 60 people. We all donate our time to this worthy cause.
